Tower Set Screws

I've noticed on my 09 tower a squeak (not a mouse ) coming from my right side when in choppy rough water.......on close inspection I think I narrowed it down toaset screw above my front right tower foot. I removed it and the squeak is gone......then i noticed these screws were missing on my 3 other tower legs........are theyjust for mounting the tower,or are they needed???? the are only about 1/4" long and in diameter. Any one have these missing on their towers? thanks

looks like it may keep it from rotating, when the tower is lowered or unbolted. i would spray some silicone or wd40 in there and re-install. not sure i like having tower screws missing... my .02

agree with you but 3 were missing and the one present was squeeking like a stuck pig......i guess i am wondering if anyone withthis tower set up has these present or missing?
