Or "ice chest" if you live in the south. Anyways, I have an 05 LSV and as we all know cold storage capacity is terrible. Im just wondering, has anyone tried to order a cooler that would normally go on the port side and tried to install it on the starboard side? The spaces seem to be identical, so Im assuming it would work with a small amount of plumbing. Any thoughts on this? Cheers!

on our XLV we had to use the cooler for the trash can when at Norris last week. 20 pounds of ice per day was getting expensive. We received a soft cooler as a thank you a couple of years ago. One 7 pound bag lasts all day, plus you can place it any place.

I picked up two soft coolers from Wally's in April right after I got the new boat. Using a pair of snips I trimmed 1" off the plastic ice bin that sits inside of them. Now I have two coolers that fit under the seats and stay cold. Cost was about $26.

I run a 56qt Igloo Marine cooler in the starboard locker, way better than the factory cooler. I have ice for days now versus an hour! Got it at Costco for $25! It's short enough to fit in and has plenty of opening room.

I use the factory cooler for small item storage or spare drinks to add to the real cooler.

Never had ice in mine yet. Just collects bilge water. Go with a soft side tucked away, that's what we do.

Has anyone ever tried to insulate this cooler? I thought about getting spray foam and spraying all the way around the cooler to help insulate it.

Do a search on the subject, i tried everything and nothing helps in hot weather.
