Stalling at idle

I have a '98 Outback. I had it out this weekend and whenever I dropped it to neutral the engine would stall. I have to start it up idling high. I have to go from a slow idle then put it in gear and go quick into gear. Any ideas as to what the problem may be? Some sort of fuel issue, maybe the filter?

Do you have any idea what it is idling at when in neutral? It should be around 800 rpm's. You might need to just turn the idle up a bit.
Does it run fine if you keep the idle up on it?
