kicking/grinding noise from walter v-drive

noticed noise and thought I had hit a log. Noise kept happening when boat gets up to 25 to 30 mpg. pulled cover under backseat and sounded like it was coming from v-drive. It is very short loud kicking and grinding noise. Boat is a 06 moomba mobius with walter v-drive. I'm guessing one of the teeth on the gears is bad. Any ideas?

Pulled v-drive today and found where linkage was hitting housing. Now I just need to figure out why?

did you pull the vdrive off the transmission ....do you have any pics?

Yeah I pulled it off the transmission, but no pics. I'll have to take some tomorrow. Best way I can describe it is the linkage housing has some scraping on the bottom from linkage closest to the gearbox. I'm just curious if the problem is bearings or alignment. Gonna take it to get checked out tomorrow.
