I have a 2003 ssv with the 5.7 TBI engine. The engine is stalling about 2 out of every 5 times when returning to neutral. My boat does not have the safety tether cord. I am going to replace the fuel filter today but what are some other things that could cause this? Is the fuel/water seperator the only fuel filter on these boats?

Not the same problem. You have other issues. Mine cranks and runs fine. It just shuts off when I go from gear to neutral.

I changed the fuel filter and it did not correct the problem. Off to the dealer today.

Dealer said their computer is showing that the fuel injection part of the ecm is bad which is causing the engine to flood when going back to neutral from running wide open. Its not regulating the fuel. Its just filling up the engine. It runs fine in neutral and when idling but if you open it p for a minute and then go back to neutral it stalls. does this sound legit before i fork out 1400 for a new ecm.
