Speedometer

Has anybody ever had problems with the speedometer?? I think I bent the plastic next to it on the lift somehow.. Do I just shave the lip of the plastic off or do i need a new part?

I bent the plastic on one side of the wheel last year and it was rubbing on the wheel.I cut the plastic off and the speedo has been working fine so far.
