I recently had vapor lock issues in my 05 outback and was wondering if anybody had tried a fuel cooling can to keep the fuel from vaporizing?

I was talking to a guy that does the dirt drag racing/racing mechanic and I told him that my boat had a case of vapor lock. He told me about the cooling can saying that they use it on the race trucks. You pretty much put the can in the fuel line and the can comes with a spiral copper line inside the can that is insulated which your fuel goes through and you dump a bag of ice in the can to cool the fuel. He said it would work, maybe worth a try.

Any thoughts?

JUST get a cooling can called a "beer cooler". Fill it with drinks and load it with ice. Make sure your route your fuel line/filter through there and problem solved :)

Go to Summit Racing and buy some heat tape. I bought some and wrapped the fuel pump and all the lines with it. Supposed to stand temps to 2,000 degrees.

Much better alternative if it works, Cool Cans are huge and in these boats you'd be hard pressed to find somewhere to put it. Not to mention the hassles of doing it.

Probably just about everyone who lives where ethanol is the norm i'm guessing. Never seen the stuff so i have no issues at all. :p
