Just out of curiousity, what or where did you use them in your XLV. I have an 08 XLV and have 1100 in each of the rear lockers, 1180 in the center, and two 400's (one for the bow and one for the seat on the side I'm surfing on). Basically almost 3,000lbs of ballast when surfing.

Those are the bags out of my rear locker that came stock with the gravity games III ballast system.

For those with a 2006+ LSV, these are a good alternative to the long 10x16x70 sacs that extend well into the side, rear seats. The 20x54 foot print fits perfectly in the rear locker and the 10" height means there's plenty of room on top for life jackets and such.

I am running X2 sacs (18x20x32) as we like to put a cooler in front of the sac or I would be all over these. This is the first time I have seen this particular size.

I have an extra 10x16x70 (actually have 2) if someone would rather have that. I'd take one or both of the 10x20x54 in trade if that helps anyone. They are just about brand new.

I agree, haven't seen that size 400 before, usually see a more symetrical sac like the 16x16x42 400lb or the 19x19x42 565lb.

Just curious why you are running so much ballast to surf, especially the additional 400's. I run a 750 in the surf side rear locker and the 400 in the ski locker on my LSV and even with just two people on board, I've got an ample wave to easily freeride on. With "just" the 1100 and the 1180 plus a heavier boat, I would think it would be plenty big without having to mess with the 400's. Again, just curious.

I may be wrong but I don't see how anyone is surfing anything behind an XLV, unless it's a canoe, without some weight. When I had the 565lb sac in the v-drive, the 650lb center sac, and 4 people on the goofy side I still could barely free ride. I tried speeds from 9.5-12mph at 1/2 mph increments. I already know the wakeplate needs to be approx 3/4 up or all the way up. With the 1100 in v-drive and 1180 center and just the driver I could free ride my Shred Stixx Thresher but the wave was short...but it was tall. I never go out with a crew of more than 5 so I got the extra bags to play with. I don't want just to be able to free ride, I want a beefy wave with length so I gotta try different setups. I've seen pics of peoples waves on here on their Outbacks and LSV's, not to offend but I'm not impressed so I want to try other possibilities. I've yet to anyone on here post a big XLV wave that looks like it has some push to it. Oh, I will have to add, my regular side wave is very nice with minimal weight...I may just have to suck it up and learn to ride regular because that wave is already long with the 1100 and 1180
