Hi,

Haven't searched the engine for it yet but do you know if there is a fuel filter or a fuel water separator on a 2008 Moomba Outback?

Yes there is; however I'm not sure where it would be on yours. Mine is a 99 and it is located in the bilge area by the fuel pump. It looks like an oil filter and screws on.
You might have an in-line one as well....

Turns out it's under the gull wing storage on the DD's.

phosper - would it be too much to ask for a pic of yours? That'd be helpful for me!
Thanks a bunch

No problemo. I just picked up the filter today and will be installing it in the next few days. I'll report back with pics.

I have an 07 Outback DD and mine is behind a panel which you must remove in the ski storage at the very back of the boat. The wakeplate resevoir is back in the corner as well behind a nother panel that must be removed to access,it as well.

OK - I thought that was that was my fuel filter there. I have my ski locker all pulled apart in the back as I'm modifying some of my ballast. Figured I'd see where Phospher's was. I might just replace mine for peace of mind. Anybody know how often one should replace them?

I think I paid around 12 bucks for a napa/wix one.

I actually, did this yesterday. I have a few pics and will get them posted sometime this weekend. It was an easy job only involving removing 7 screws and then two more which hold the filter to the boat. No biggie. The part that came from moomba is actually a Napa Gold filter which is the exact filter I replaced it with.

Ok, finally, here are the pics of the fuel filter on my 2008 Outback DD. It was 7 screws to get to the filter. Not big deal at all. I will say though, make sure you have a towel to catch some of the gas that will come out when you separate the fuel line from the fuel filter. I also made sure to hold mine vertical so to not let the fuel pour out. I managed to hardly spill any. And watch the arrows on the filter so that you install it the correct way.

Pics in no particular order.

P.S. - Admin, what the heck? Trying to get a descent image within a 19.5KB file is pretty hard. How about 25 or 30KB? C'mon now.

Thanks phospher! Yup..........same place on my boat (go figure). I'm going to change mine out this fall when I go to winterize. Thanks for confirming location :)

Phospher -
Is this the same filter? Do you know if it's 1/2" or 3/8" inlet/outlet?
thanx
