what do you guys use to wipe your boat down and get rid of those nasty calcium spots. i see pics of guys boats that have that "wet" look, having a black boat i would like the same. but i dont want to use anything that may have an adverse affect on the gelcoat.

I wipe my boat down at the ramp parking lot so I don't get too many spots. I use Ducky water spot remover (smells good too). Then Babe's Boat Brite maybe twice a month for a nice shine.

+1 on babes boat bright. I wipe it down with babes after each outing as soon as it's on the trailer. At about $40 per gallon, it's pricey though.

I've found that only places that sell boating stuff have it and they sell it for $40/gal - at least the ones local to me do. You can buy it direct at www.babesboats.com as well as other places online for $32 plus shipping.

i second the bucket of babes all their products are pretty good consider using malco on the tough vinyl stains or dirt and use 303 protector afterwards.
it does smell very good too

only thing is couldn't they have found a sexier woman to put on there labels!?

Being that my boat stays in the water all the time, I use white vinegar in a spray bottle. My boat gets pretty scummed up, and the vinegar cuts right through it, making the boat look like new. Just make sure to follow up with a coat of wax, because the vinegar will take that with it.
