Does anyone know the current water temp at Lake Biilly Chinook in Oregon? We are going there for Memorial Day weekend. I called the Cove Palisades marina and the lady I spoke to said it was in the 40's or low 50's but she didn't know for sure. That can't be right, can it?? Heck, Hagg Lake was 63 last weekend and Lake Billy is usually a lot warmer. Anyone been there recently?

Davidl, you out there??

Thanks,

Al

Columbia and the Snake here are in the low to mid 50's. Go to Potholes. The water is 80 degrees by Memorial Day.

Seriously 80 degrees? I'm going to have to check that place out! We used to bird hunt there in the winter but never been there in the summer.

I am skeptical that potholes will be that warm this Memorial Day. The air temp has only gone above 80 maybe, what, 2-3 times so far this year. This cold front and cold rain that's going to fall all week won't help either. Oh well, there's always June, July and August

Newty, this time of year the water backs up into a huge sand dune area and the water is between 6-7 feet deep and is fairly consistent depth throughout. Take a GPS as you can get lost in the sand dunes and to mark good boating areas. If there is wind in the area it will be there. There is a couple of camping areas in the area.
