Best place to buy 22 ga wire. Is it the big box hardware stores, local car audio guy, chain auto store.local electrical store. i assume i need multi strand.

reason is extension of remote, ground and power to eq.
Need red, orange, black

For that kind of wire i'd go to an electrical supply house.

Cut Rate Auto Parts, Action Auto, any local car part store. NOT CAR TOYS

As long as 22 ga wire is big enough for your application, then there's no problem using a larger gauge wire then splicing it together.

Al, Thanks

22 ga is what comes from the EQ, in case i get the ground loop noise under the helm i wanted to have some wire around to run it to the amp wired to locations to eliminate noise. If it ever stops raining i can finish my install... guess i am good to go.

I didn't get noise at first, but now I'm getting all sorts of weird sounds with my EQ powered from the buss under the helm. They aren't too loud but plenty annoying for me. I'll be running wires today to power it directly off the battery. Still have the remote wire tied to the stereo switch with no issue there. Good luck with your install!

I just have a comment here. I used to use automotive spec wire and connectors in my boats but after some severe corrosion issues I realized I needed to spend the extra money and buy Marine grade stuff (Boaters World which is now gone and West Marine carry the stuff). The bad part was the damage occurred to the wiring on my bildge pump and it quit working. I didn't see anything wrong visually but when I tore the heat shrink off and looked at the wire and connections I made they were completely corroded away.

Well I had trouble with wiring that was sometimes in the water, being on a stereo and on equipment that will not cause you any real issues is not really an issue. :)

I used I think Security system wire.
It is a 4 or 5 small gauge wires inside one coating. Home Depot or lowes sells it bulk. they are multi colored and easy to use!
