Definately get the Stoltz Ultimate Bow Stop Roller (http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=34908&pdesc=Stoltz_Ultimate_Bow_Stop _Roller). I've had it two years without a mark on it or the boat! I've used Stoltz rollers on the last two boats and the difference between them and all the others is the material, it's silicone impregnated or something because it super slick!

That is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for the info.

Razz,

I need one of those too! Is the 3" or 4" the right one for our trailer? Or do you remember?

Thanks,

Al

Al, grab a tape measure and measure the width of where the roller goes-thats the size you will need. I did mine with the stoltz after the boat buddie crapped out-it was 4"

Thx. I'm not near my boat or trailer and wanted to order it this afternoon.

I don't remember so I went and looked. My bracket measures 3 1/8" between the arms with the roller in place. I looked here to verify, Stotlz Industries (http://www.stoltzind.com/bowstops.html) Ultimate Bow Stop. A 4" unit is HUGE so there's no way it could be a 4".

Also remember another thing, make sure to not tighten the through bolt so much that it can't roll! The factory black plastic junk was so tight it could roll if it wanted to. You don't want it loose but loose enough that the boats weight will make it roll. I have mine so that a firm grip will turn it.

Man, it's like you guys can read minds sometimes! I was just going to ask the same question about what size of Stoltz bow roller to get. I am not around my boat, so needed some input. I've got a similar roller setup to the Stoltz, and it looks to be very similar material, but it is marking my boat a little, and looks like it needs to be replaced. I'll feel better if it is anyway...
So, 3 inch it is! Thanks guys!!

My bow roller doesn t roll....so I loosen it...now I can make it spin by hand but when the weight of the boat is on the roller it stops to roll and the boat just slide on it....what s happening?
