Still not convinced this is the real deal...Almost too perfect.

I would love to have a pull behind this boat at about 6 am with glass for water....

If any of you guys get sentimental on a time piece like this one and start thinking about buying it, I would be happy to go take a look for you if need be. Going from the accent and 770 area code, he is somewhere around Atlanta. I have new buddy who is a boat mechanic who would give it the once over as well for a small fee. Actually to be able to look at this 79', I doubt he would charge a penny.

OK 2 years ago I sold our 1975 Green Stars and Strips for 4500 dollars due to lack of room. Almost everything with this boat is like what our boat and trailer had with the exception of the fiberglass swim deck which I never saw on an old Stars and Stripes. I have always seen the teak decks. But under the black paint that is a Red Stars and Strips. What I mean by this is anywhere I drilled a hole for a fitting or depth finder and I removed the white paint I had the green metal flake. Again, what I am saying here is they molded the complete boat in the color (red, green, blue) of the stripes and then painted over it with white or in this case black paint. Thinking about it now I wished they just left them the solid color as they would have been awesome. My stripes on the engine cover and the bow, the ones in the sun started to fade and wear away down to the metal flake and it would cut your butt. When I took it to a painter he stated he never had seen metal flakes that large in any paint job ever and he couldn't begin to match it. This would make someone an awesome slalom course boat!

OK mine wasn't that good looking, but we used it every year since we bought it in the mid 80s. And I can say I asked 5k for it and sold it for 4.5k so seeing how we paid 7k for it when we bought it I must admit we got our money out of it. I later saw it being sold for 5k again!
Wake????? I don't remember a wake. hummmmmm wake?????? Nope no wake.

Very nice, I've been kind of looking for older dd boats lately, like old wood ones. I think it would be a cool restore.

Shoot, I would imagine the restoring would be a limited project. Boat looks fantastic. Sled,if you get a wild hair and want to drive down to Georgia, you have to let me have a set behind her. :) I'll bring the cold BEER and tubes of course. :)

Last year on the Flint river (the other mini jamboree) we saw an early 80's stars and stripes that looked really good! I believe it was a blue one. There are a few of those stars and stripes around and if you don't mind replacing the wood stringers (just patched that job) or the wood decks (did that job) then they are very good slalom course boats. I wouldn't give alot to this one just because it is black. I mean talk about burning your skin in the sun! Probably why it was never used, they took it out one summer, driver laid his arm on the arm rest by the throttle and found himself in the emergency room with second degree burns!

That's why I will never buy a dark top deck boat again.

I was in love with the stars and stripes. I got to ski behind one in '84 or '85 and vowed then I'd get an inboard some day. My cousin Kate was with me. I think that ride made an impression on her. This is her now:

She's taking this season off as she has gained about 13 inches around her waist.

Parents had a Malibu Skier in the late 80's and let me take it out, thats when I said I will own my own one day.

That MC is very nice and clean looking-oh and very glad she is not selling just cause she has a little one on the way

That's what too much beer will do :D However I'm assuming it was the beer that started the growth not the actual reason for it!

Long story but they've been married for 5 years and decided the time is now or never.

Yeah the wife got really mad at me when we painted over the metal flake on our 1975 Stars and Stripes but the cost of fixing that issue was more than it was worth. And trying to find the correct decals and all the stars was getting to be a pain. So we found a dealer with an older set of MasterCraft decals and put them on, I am not sure what year they were from. But here are both boats just before we sold the MC. It was actually in the water waiting for the buyers to come test drive it. So before she left we took a picture of it with her younger sister behind her. That dock is now gone and the Moomba LS sits up high and dry in a covered lift.

We hope to plan for a early summer start, that way she doesn't miss summer, then the little one is already here and ready for the next summer LOL. Obviously i have no kids as i think we can actually plan this? LOL
