I mentioned after the prop test weekend that I was very impressed with the surf wake on the new OBV. It stood up to anything we saw all weekend from the LSV or the XLV. Here's some video I shot of EdG-- forgive him, he's using my Broadcast not his own board in the video. But, it shows a very nice surf wake. Sorry, I don't remember exactly which prop we were running on that Fri. (I hope this works)

that's a nice surf wake. now will someone teach the old guy to either stand on the board right, or surf the other side?? :)

That wave Martha puts out is really nice.

Very nice surf wake! How much ballast and where? What speed?

LOL, front stiff leg says it all! Not you're best side.

Had an extra 440 or so with the two of us in there. The wave had a nice curl to it though.

A Tsunami for sure.
Unfortunately we are a mixed-foot family, so over-weighting the OBV on the one side is not feasible.

Might I make two recommendations to enhance your surfing experience; one in earnest, one in jest:

1. Get rid of that t-handle that can be seen in the video clanging on Ed's knees and jewels. It's always fun until someone loses an eye. Replace it with a knoted, gripped, surf rope.

2. Is that country music that can be heard in the background? OMG!!

And a suggestion to remedy the side-weighting issue:
Create a separate forum category containing information for reforming the goofy's so that we can all weight our boats for the proper surf side! ;-)

If your going to ride around with your theighs showing, get some sun on those bad boys!:D
Your a good host surfing the other side for everyone. I try it all the time but I always feel like such a ruh-tard that I end up switching back.

Great looking wake btw!

I was looking at pictures of our family before we moved to FL 6 yrs ago. We look sick or something.

OK if Newty's comment about the color of Ed's thighs wasn't quite right, check out the video I posted from Inland Surfer. They talk about Surfer edicate and pulling your shorts into place after getting up :D

I notice something with that wave that I have a similar problem with. After a while the curl seems to disappear. I may be challanged on this and told to lay off the pipe, but it seems to me that the wave starts out real nice (IMO) and then gets kind of blahh after a bit. What am I missing as I have a similar issue.

Also to add to Moombabounds post, I though it was country music as well. I was going to lay into Daze and KB this summer for that :)

You know there was a time in the 80's when the Eagles couldn't decide if they were Rock or Country :)

That's funny cuz I don't even remember the music. I was focused on the props and the waves and taking photos and video and tuned everything else out. I couldn't name one song I heard all that weekend.

On my boat you hear mom & dad's 80's hair bands or my almost 16 y/o daughter's horrific crap. Every once in a while I hear some pretty good music off her ipod but she can't tell the difference between good and stupid.

I'm sensing a general consensous with regards to the new music kids are listening to :) But really if you think that stuff is bad, my boys are still into the Sponge Bob CD, now that is irritating :(
