As some of you know, I installed a "walk-thru" under the starboard rear locker cover like some of the Supra's have from the factory. I used a black, heavy, hard, rubber mat that looks like it's made from recycled tires. It also got hot pretty quick on a sunny day. It's not a very appealing look and it's heavy weight sometimes made it close by itself when we get hit with a roller while adrift so I was looking to do something different.
So yesterday, I ran across an exercise mat that my wife no longer uses. It's light weight, soft, but seems very durable as well. It is light and dark blue which somewhat matches the dark blue vinyl trim and has a sort of wave pattern to it to boot. I think Ian Ashton would love it (LOL!). So below are the before and after pics. It's not exposed to the sun very much and it does not absorb water so I think it should hold up pretty well. I like that it adds some color to the boat as well.
