Is there any major differences between MSD plug wires and OEM Indmar wires. I have a brand new set of MSDs for a small block on the shelf that I am thinking of using if they are the same.

Thanks

Plug wires are graded by how large they are vs the ohms in the wire start to end. The MSD wires are generally designed to run a higher voltage spark, also MSD ignition modules are normally a dual spark system. < send 2 sparks a few milliseconds apart for a better burn >

The best way to see if there is any real difference is measure the ohms in the cables. Lower Ohms means a faster and hotter spark. Will you see an improvement? Possibly depending on how different the wires read and how old your stock ones are compared to the new MSD ones.

The stock wires are actually really nice wires. As Mike said it all depends on the ohms and gauge of wire. But, Indmar has optimized the system to work perfectly together for it's intended purpose so unless your upgrading other ignition components to a "matched state" there really is no benefit imo to going with anything else.
