I have read several postings on people upgrading their ballast systems. My setup is a 2005 Mobius LSV. I only have the center ballast (ski locker). I have purchased the rear bags and currently fill them with a 1100 external pump. I'd like to plumb these in and add switches. Can someone give me their thoughts on how much time and money I'm looking at. Thanks in advance.

do some searches as this has been addressed. I am not exactly sure how your 1 bag works, but there are several folks who have done this recently.

Kaneboats just did this on his 09 LSV i think

I have GIII ballast. I just added a second Rule pump on a tee and built a new manifold to accommodate the extra water inlet-- then I swapped in a 750 bag. I think Joe is converting to GIII though.

You have a couple of options when it comes to upgrading a GI system to a GIII setup:

1. You can expand the factory supplied setup to fill the additional rear bags, which will slow down the overall speed with which the system fills at, but will be easiest and cheapest install.

2. You can install discreet fill pumps for each of the three bags, which will result in a much faster system, but will require more components and more from an installation standpoint.

3. You can replace the system completely using reversible pumps to mimic the system that come in 2009 and newer boats. This is the most expensive option, but for most people will be the "best".

Feel free to ask if you would like additional information on one of the three options I've outlined.
