When I first bought my Roo the flames attracted my attention. Now I'm growing a little sick of them just like I did with the ugly 07' Moomba decals. What do ya'll think? Dump em' or keep em'? I can handle criticism so don't be afraid to throw your honest opinion out there.

like you, I liked them when they came out, now-I'd rip them off all off and go neked.

love the matching color on the tower.

There's no right answer here, it only matters what you think not everyone else. Tastes and opinions vary, 10 people here may like it then what?

I'm not looking for the right or wrong answers. Just looking for opinions, that's all. I'm on the fence so a little weight on the yes or no side will be the final factor of my decision.

Thanks man! The tower is becoming a pain though. The powder coating starts to chip after awhile.

I'd peel them off if it were my boat. Right now they are too much of a focal point. Once they are off you'll notice the unique color combo and powder coated tower much more.

I haven't liked flames since about 1977 or so when I saw them on a Pacer. Your boat would look cool nekked. I also think you could add a custom graphic that pulls in the tower color and it would look cool too. Either way, I definitely agree the flames are a little tired and need to be put out.

Edit: The chrome "MOOMBA" logo available on the 2010's would look cool too.

Yeah, but how to get Chromed "Moomba" logo is the question. Is this something you can buy directly from Skiers Choice?

Your dealer can get the new decals. If a 2010 had one damaged they'd need to be able to repair it, right? I replaced my graphics and the dealer made it an easy process.

I don't see why not. If it's on the boat you ought to be able to buy it, right?

It does look good.

What's up with that spare tire??? It looks like tread coming off of the top.

LOL! I didn't even notice that. I focused on the flames and colors and totally missed it. Leave it to the pilot to notice the details.

Loose the flames, comes off easy with a hair dryer, you may have to buff the underlying gel coat to blend it in from any fading. my .02

haha. Had a blow out last summer and haven't gotten around to getting it fixed yet. I live on a river and rarley tow so it hasn't been a priority quite yet.

I've never liked flames but for some reason these grew on me, peaked, then got old quick. Not to mention I get screwed with by all of my riding buds. I think they've stayed on this long due to my pride. haha. It's settled then, they're finally coming off! Anyone have any good suggestions in getting rid of them? It literally took me 3 hours to take off the Moomba decals. pita.

Heat gun and fingernails! :) I know the pros use an eraser wheel but I would imagine you'd have some gelcoat polishing to do after that...

Ditto on the above, maybe some solvent, goo gone, etc. to help break up the glue.

Naked, for sure. You have a sick color combo and the tower makes it even better. Loose the flame!

Lose those flames, the boat looks great from behind, but it really is flaming from the front.......i think it has to do with the baby blue because usually i like the flames. jmo and not worth much

Lose the flames unless it can go 100 mph. Flames and Flying Tiger wraps have a special place on things and the Moomba ain't it. My 2 pesos.

I'll admit the flames suck but nothing compares to suck better than the new Mastercraft wraps. "Clubbas" have something new to roll up to da club in.

I recently removed all the stickers on the boat and Heat Gun is the way to go. I tried to use a smaller gun more like a hair dryer and it took me about 2 hours to get the Mobius off one side. I grabed a 1500 degree heat gun and it took like 30 minutes for the other side.

Tips

Heat a section up, hold the gun about 10inches away, you should be able to put your hand between the gun and the stickers with out burning yourself. You need to heat the stickers but Dont make them hot.

The stickers have a very specific temp they like to peel to. To hot they tear instantly, to cool and they are hard to peel and leave lots of glue behind.

I heated a 1 foot section up, then heated the edge quite a bit, this allows you to roll your finger over it and get it started. Then you can grab it and gently pull it off, you can feel when the sticker cools to much because it gets hard to pull. Re-heat the section but be carefull to not heat the peeled section because it will shrink and instaly tear.

You will get it pretty fast.

Best thing to remove glue.

I tried goo gone, removed glue but then you have to clean that residue off as well, then rewax it all.

Used Gasoline, same problem as above.

I found Rubbing Compound works the best actualy. Very mild type same as you would use to polish scratches out of Gel Coat. I applied that and the glue came right off, this also allowed me to polish the area to make sure no fading in the white section. Then i apply the wax and its all done.

if you check out one of the sellers on ebay they might either have a Moomba logo available, or be willing to cut you one the size that you want. Most guys will cut the decal out of a "chrome" colored vinyl.

Deflamed. I'm pretty happy about it.

I'm going to rip off the rest of the decals this week. I ran out of patience after the flames.

Thanks Kane. I'm really liking the way the black looks. Next plans I'm thinking window tint then powder coating all of the chrome accessories including the speaker cans. There was just way too much going with this boat. haha. I'm almost embarrassed for myself.

You have a lot of chrome accents: rubrail, grab handles, windshield frame, speakers, docking lights, cleats, board racks, bow light, etc. Personally I like the chrome.

I'm not a big believer in powdercoating. I wouldn't do it on hand hold areas like grabs and rails. But, everybody has their own ideas on this.

Just out of curiosity. Why do you say that? Does it chip easily?
