air pump

What is the best 12V air pump for inflatables? I want one that inflates and deflates rather fast and doesnt have a shutoff at 1psi. I would like one with a hose so I can leave the pump hidden and pull out the hose. Any ideas????

It would need to be a large hose to push a high volume of air. Make a reducer for your heater hose and close off the other vents.

not 12v, but I use my shop vac to inflate. Very fast, no 1 psi shut off, and has more than one use (better bang for the buck).

I have this one but black. Works great fills really fast. We have a huge 2 person Tomcat and it takes about 5 minutes. Only draw back is it is a bit loud.

I got real tired of wimpy 12v pumps so i went 120v! This, Airhead Hi-Pressure pump (http://www.airhead.com/airhead/ahp120hp.php) + this Xantrex Xpower 1000 inverter (http://www.xantrex.com/web/id/23/p/1/pt/29/product.asp) means i can pump anything in under 5 minutes, including the monster Costco three-person tube.

I have that same pump, it is amazing, and will suck any air mattress or float toy as flat as a pancake when your done. The inverter is a great idea, I usually do mine at the house and then hump all the toys down to the lake.

Any one smarter than me with electronics find a way to hard wire an inverter in your boat now that would be awsum. Can you imagine a 120v outlet with plate installed in your boat, I bet that would get as many looks as a custom wrap :D

Piece of cake, mount the inverter, run to 8ga. wires to a thermal breaker and then to the battery, nothing to it. I use one of the 3-way cords on the inverter to plug into, it's easier and it extends the cord a bit. Could always hack the inverter and mount the round waterpfoof Seacon connector somewhere. :p
