Alright, here's the deal, I have the 00' Mob V, attached pic. I am always hitting my head on the tower speakers, and don't even use the bimini because it sits below them and gives me no head room at all.

Any one ever seen tower speakers only on the top of the tower? Any ideas how it would look? I keep trying to visualize it and I just don't know. If I did this I could raise the bimini so it is 1/2" below the bottom of the tower and actually use it!

Let me know your opinions please, or pics if you got any of this. Thanks!

Ive seen people run the speakers up top, but I really dislike the look. But if you value headroom over aesthetics, or if you're cool with the look than my opinion doesn't matter a bit! :) Your speakers look to be about as low profile as you'll find, so not many options there. Maybe you could mount them on the side of the tower? Malibu does that on their illusion towers...

Here's a couple pics i found on WW, personally i think it looks ridiculous, like mouse ears or something up hey everybody has their own opinion. Also a shot of what happens when you put too many speakers on :p

LMAO! That is a strange similarity there... I think I will have to try it and see what it looks like, my tower has a little curve up, not a straight bar on top, so the speakers may follow that line nice, won't know till I try it though. Thanks for your inputs!

So you convinced the girlfriend to let you keep the boat?

Yep! Happy to say we did decided to keep it. Getting alot more back from our taxes than we expected and already have triple what we thought we'd have the day before the wedding and we are 5 months away!

So in short, we are keeping the boat, going to make some upgrades & enjoy our summer!

I hate the look of a dude bleeding out of his forehead on his own boat. You can make anything look OK if you put some thought into it. Jjerrod is really tall and asked me about how I did my bimini. Whatever works for you is the way to go.

You know, I've thought about that too. Has anyone ever taken their stock bimini, cut a hole to go over the rope mount and raised it above the tower? Obviously you'd have to do some serious stitching around the hole to make it last. Any thoughts or, again, pictures would be a great help, especially if someone has done this and has some pictures of the stitching they did around the hole. Thanks guys.

You don't have to cut a hole. I was all set to do that but realized there's no reason to do it. All I did was scrap the middle bow of the old bimini and use the tower instead. This bimini is very large -- it fit the boat before there ever was a tower.

When you say you scrapped the middle bow of the old bimini, are you just refering to the middle bimini support? So does the bimini rest on the top of the rope mount then? The bimini I have now is pretty big, and if I can get it on the top side of the tower it'd be way nice.

Yea, it's called a bow. If you order a bimini the first thing they ask is if you want a "two bow", a "three bow" or a "four bow". (The same terminology is used for convertible tops on automobiles and probably dates back to covered wagons.) The one I had was a 3 bow. I pulled the middle one out just use the tower to do its job.

The rear bow is probably 5-6 inches behind the rope mount so I just reach under the bimini and put the rope right over it.

Perfect! Mine is also a 3 bow. I will have to do some test fitting and see if I can get it mounted above. Thanks for your help!

When I did mine I just stretched it over the tower and looked at it. The first thing I determined was the middle bow had to go. I disconnected it at the ends and pulled it out of its sleeve on the canvas. Later I added a strap with velcro on both ends that runs through the sleeve (that used to hold the middle bow) and secures it to the tower. I made an incision in the sleeve right in the center so the strap can exit and wrap around the tower and then reenter the sleeve. So now there are three attachment points -- one at each end of the sleeve and another one in the middle of the sleeve. I think I also hacksawed a few inches off the front bow to make it fit better. I attached the top frame using bimini clamps. You can get these on ebay.

Sounds like a plan. I'll have to do it. Thanks again.
