So it's starting to warm up here in CA and boating season will soon be here.

I'm planning on doing my own maintenance service before the season starts and I'm trying to figure out what I need to buy.

I have an 2007 outback V with 56.8 hrs.

I think I've figured out:
I need 6 quarts of 15W40 Pennzoil Marine oil or equivalent.
I need a Pennzoil Pz3 oil filter or equivalent.
I need 2 quarts of Dextron III for the transmission.

**I need 1 quart of SAE 30 motor oil but I'm not sure where this goes.
**I need an inline fuel filter but I don't know what make and model will fit?

Can someone here help me figure out where the SAE 30 motor oil goes and what fuel filter to use? Also what is a ZF V-Drive and Reduction Gears? I'm not sure what this is and what maintenance is needed for this.

What else do I need to do?

Thanks,
Christian

The sae 30 oil goes in the vdrive which is directly in front of the transmission. Look in your manual or download one off the site here and you shall see. If you go to the How To Information and look at winterizing by al there are lots of pictures that will help as well. you will also need an extractor pump to remove the fluids from the units and dont try and suck it out of the dipstick tube for the engine oil, use the quick drain

On my 08 LSV there is a drain and filter screen on the back of the v-drive that's not hard to get to. I used a paint pan to catch the used oil, then sucked it up with a fluid extractor. Probably not necessary to clean that filter screen every time, but might be worth it the first time.
