I seen these (http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=87170&pdesc=Dockmate_Hinged_Fender&str=flat+fender&merchID=4005)when browsing Overtons and couldnt find any threads on them. Is anyone using this style of fender? Thoughts? Looks like a solid replacement for the cylindrical fenders to me.

I've got a couple of them. They work ok, but they store out of the way really easy. I use them when I tie up with other boats and never had a problem (so far).

I thought about them myself but i ended up getting the polyester covers for my round ones instead to give me more space between boats without rubber rubs.

think they would be ok when tied to a dock in flat calm no possiblility of waves. Im using hipyhops for kids as bumpers-lots of cusion and deflate for storeing. Run about $10. each.
