It all started very innocent. My wife went shopping tonight with the baby and I was innocently browsing different deals on various marine supplies. Obviously shopping for the best bargains!

Well I thus far have purchased a pair of 2009 CWB Zeus Bindings, an anchor bag and buoy, a Fulton F2 Dual wheel jack, Bilge cleaner, Seat cleaner, iRoc wireless remote, new seat straps and a Canyon Blue LED underwater light.

It must be the ambien. Someone stop me.

The wife is not going to be pleased.

It did not end up good. I am going to bed now. I cannot wait until Tuesday when I receive all of the goodies I felt needed to be express shipped.

Someone has to keep the economy going, it might as well be you.

you da man

I feel you man. The past 3 days I got my girlfriend her own wakeboard, ordered a Shred Stixx surf board, and got the new 2010 Moomba swivel racks (didn't pay nearly the $1179 what they wanted but can't discuss price)

Just think of all the times the wife went shopping and comes home with bags of nonbargain items. You should get a turn every few years. Also it will make you happy since it is winter right now and cold out.

is the two wheel jack that much better then one wheel? easier to maneuver or what?

You know, I wish I could tell you for sure. But I have heard that yes it is easier to move around than the one wheeled one.

My reason for buying it, was really bc of the deal I found and also bc I broke the bearings inside my jack. I could have paid $30-40 bucks to replace them after shipping, and it just didnt seem worth it to me when I could spend the $40 bucks more and upgrade.

I'll let ya know how I like it. Should get here on Wed, maybe Thursday.

You are exactly right! And that is what I am going to say when all of this stuff shows up at the door while I am at the office. :)

I feel your pain! I just know the wife is keeping count of all my latest spending, and is getting ready to pay me back so-to-speak. She's been eyeing a $2500 down Sectional for our game room. She says at least the couch is something every one can use. I told her that we all use the boat too! She just doesn't get it. We need retail (wholesale) therapy too!:p

1. stopped snooping in the garage (my domain) :D

2. stopped asking where this or that came from. :)

LOL yea I know what you mean. She tried to use the logic the other day that If I squirreled money and didn't spend it on the boat we could buy the couch she wanted. Ppfffft... RIIIIIIIIGHT.
She said the boat is fine just the way it is. I just turned around and walked away. I didn't even want to try to explain it to her.:)

Haha! That is an argument right there that we will NEVER win.

"The boat is just fine the way it is."

If I had a quarter for every time I heard that....well you get the point.

True boat/water enthusiasts understand that boats are money pits. Period. But the money I am pouring into this this "pit" is also being used as time with my family. My children will grow up spending time with Mom and Ole Dad on the weekends for the most part instead of many other things they could be doing. This crazy investment of mine brings all of us closer together with the time I will teach my kids how to ski, swim, and take care of nature. As well "date nights" for just the wifey and I. Nothing better than the night rides. :)

Yeah, yeah, I probably spend too much money on the boat, but as long as the bills are paid, and my savings stay padded, then I have no problem with it.
8-)

No kidding.... I am currently having to BUILD more storage just for my wife's shoes. While I currently own about 5 pairs of shoes. 4 pairs of them are dress shoes and one pair of "tennis shoes" that have lasted for 3 years so far.

Yeah, I just broke down and got a new pair of Nikes. It wasn't that the old pair wasn't still good, it was that the really old pair I wear for grass cutting and volunteer roofing was so bad it had to be pitched. I should be good for another 5 years now. I do seem to go through a pair of sandals every summer though. Can't bring myself to wear Crocs.

You guys don't know what your missing! I first started wearing crocs on the dive boats, I now wear them year round:)

My wife has 15 ft of our walk in closet, I have 4. Although I have to admit I do have a shoe problem:(

Seriously Sled.....Crocs? Gotta go with Daze on this one!
I will admit when I take my 8 yr. old daughter to hockey the crocs are easier for her to slip off before her skates go on.

This seems to be a universal thing, my buddies up in Canada feel the same way as you guys. But I'm telling you they are great. You go on any dive boat down south and thats all everyone is wearing.

I am almost embarr.ass.ed to admit but i agree with sled......and i'm from canada, around the cottage they are awesome , in the water building cribs, dock repair , they are great and if they come off they float to the top, they don't pick up stones so they don't scratch, and easy on off in those need be situations.......but i still think they are gay looking but i'm ok with my manhood :) so I wear em, just not in public.

02-03-2010, 10:16 PM

Hard to watch this past season.

OK, we need to stop this now before we all end up in therapy :D

I'm going with whatever makes you happy and wear whatever you feel secure wearing. Personally I have flip flops, crocs, thongs, boat shoes, sneakers, water socks, dive boots, and of course my slalom boots, and they all are worn out by the end of the summer!

Gay crocs?

For what it is worth....I am only going to wear steel toe boots from now on.

I am MAN.

I hate how the steel rusts when I wear my steel toe boots (the only shoes I wear now-- including to church and to court) on the boat. But, I take it like a man and show off my orange feet because I am NOT GAY (at least anymore).

Sled491
02-06-2010, 09:55 AM
Thongs, of course the ones for your feet, they have the tab between your big toe.

I would make a joke about underwear here, but who knows where that would end up :D
